Continuing professional education courses keep health care workers knowledgeable and up-to-date in their skills.

We also offer Massage Therapy to build careers and improve the lifestyle of our community. First Responders

Emergency Medical Services Fast Track

Give basic medical and first-aid care in emergency situations to people outside a health-care facility or until help can be received at a hospital.  With this Fast Track, in three months you will be ready to respond to 911 calls for emergency medical assistance, assess a patient's condition and determine a course of treatment, provide first aid or life support care while transporting patients.

Health Information Technology Fast Track

In the healthcare industry, certified electronic health records specialists (CEHRS) serve an important role, which is why most employers require national certification. Almost 70% of those earning the certification said it helped them land a job and 95% said they would would recommend others to obtain this credential.  This Fast Track includes the cost of your certification exam!

Phlebotomy

Phlebotomy for Law Enforcement

A concentrated one week course to train law enforcement officers as part of the DUI task force in how to perform blood draws in various situations.  Community volunteers are needed for officers to practice blood draws as their skills increase, and, under the direction of a skilled phlebotomist. To volunteer contact Amee at amrosales2@pima.edu.

Also, short courses for health care professionals to refresh their techniques in blood draws are scheduled regularly.

Phlebotomy for Law Enforcement Refresher

All field law enforcement officers are trained, then retrained to maintain quality blood draw skills.  This course serves officers of Arizona, but is also open to community members that have completed basic phlebotomy and need to maintain skills for their job.

Languages

Spanish for Medical Professionals

There is nothing more frustrating than to have a person who needs your medical assistance, but you lack language skills.  Prepare to bridge the communication gap between you, your patients, and family members with secondary language skills.

Through our Prior Learning Assessment program, you can earn up to a semester’s worth of college credit, depending on your course of study at Pima. And if you already have an industry credential, it can convert into even more college credit at Pima.

Audit Credit Courses

Most courses are available for students interested in learning without earning credits. Noncredit registration in our credit classes begins three weeks prior to the first day of class.
