Adult Basic Education

Adult Basic Education

This program is geared to entry-level study and teaches basic reading, math and language skills.

IBEST Programs

Integrated Basic Education and Skills Training (IBEST):  Prepare for your GED® while pursuing a career/technical certificate.  These classes support you so that you reach two goals at once: prepare for the GED® test and complete a College certificate that can lead to a living wage and career advancement.

Math Bridge Classes

Our 7-week intensive math class  is just what you need of you are preparing to pass the GED math test. Free test preparation materials and test fee scholarships are available.  College and career advising are also included in the class along with activities help you get familiar with College facilities and resources.

English Language

English Language Acquisition for Adults (ELAA)

Are you new to English and want to improve your language skills, You will be with other students also developing their speaking, listening, reading and writing skills from beginning to advanced levels. Learn and meet new friends.

High School Equivalency

High School Equivalency (HSE) Preparation

Prepare to take the GED® test  through the right preparation in reading, writing, social studies, science and math classes. High School Equivalency (HSE) classes are also offered online with some in-person instruction required.

High School Equivalency (HSE) Testing

PCC administers the GED® test on a regular basis.

Refugee Education Program

If you have entered the United States on a legal refugee status, the Refugee Education Program (REP) offers you an English-language learning program. Instruction is designed for students from the lowest literacy levels through college entrance levels. Courses focus on practical English skills that help you function independently on the job and in daily living. Instructors are certified in Adult Education by the State of Arizona.

Rights and Responsibilities of Citizenship

PCC provides educational support for individuals seeking United States citizenship, offering classes in civic engagement, history and government.

The credential you earn from Pima stacks up toward advanced certifications and degrees at Pima. Through our Prior Learning Assessment program, you can earn up to a semester’s worth of college credit, depending on your course of study at Pima. And if you already have an industry credential, it can convert into even more college credit at Pima.

Audit Credit Courses

Most courses are available for students interested in learning without earning credits. Noncredit registration in our credit classes begins three weeks prior to the first day of class.
